Laura Collanton came to Sacramento yesterday seeking justice for her son, Spencer, who died of fentanyl poisoning.
Here is Laura’s reaction to Capitol Democrats’ refusal to pass Alexandra’s Law (ACA 12) which would hold fentanyl dealers accountable:
"We need three things if we’re going to solve the fentanyl crisis: education, treatment, and accountability. By refusing to hold dealers accountable, the Legislature is making it even harder to stop the epidemic. This is just common sense. It’s so disappointing that victims and families were failed yet again today. We shouldn’t have to fight this hard to see justice. I don’t know a single parent who doesn’t want their child protected - I have faith that the California voters will get this right.”
